Our seminars are aimed at students attending higher fashion institutes, academies and university courses and are held at the headquarters of the Micol Fontana Foundation in Rome. With this initiative, the Foundation aspires to transfer to young people the historical memory of one of the most illustrious Italian fashion ateliers and to give students a complete perception of the creative process that leads to the creation of a haute couture dress, the maximum expression of craftsmanship and a great heritage of Italian tradition and culture.

The seminars are, therefore, a great opportunity for “enrichment” for students and constitute a valuable baggage of experiences for their future. Taught by professors of high professionalism and proven experience in the sector, they provide theoretical moments (history of Haute Couture, observation of fabrics, embroidery, accessories, sketches, etc.), as well as workshops during which the participants can transform their project ideas into papers facing the present, while being inspired by the material preserved in the Historical Archive.

Students will apply themselves to the creation of sketches, completing the study of the drawn figures through learning about modeling transformations and they will also experience examining, first-hand, the numerous and different fabric samples made available to them.
